GRADING PROCEDURES

BARABOO SCHOOL BOARD POLICY

345.1 Rule

The District has incorporated the following grading guidelines to integrate best practices in grading.

  • Determine Criteria for Grades
    • Essential learning targets, common assessments and rubrics will give students the opportunity to demonstrate mastery and growth.
  • Separate behavior from academic grades
    • Citizenship grade on the report card will report behavior allowing students and parents to know true academic and behavior performance.
  • Monitor Academic Practice and Achievement
    • Homework and daily assessment will be used to guide student instruction so grades reflect learning, not practice.
  • Allow late work/redone work
    • Students will be given multiple opportunities to demonstrate learning.
