BARABOO SCHOOL BOARD POLICY

 

352.2 Rule

 

When a field trip or excursion includes an overnight stay, the established District guidelines must be observed and implemented by all parties involved.

 

  1. Trip details must be outlined and pre-approved by the activity director, building principal, district administrator and the School Board.  No fund raising activities for an extended trip may occur before trip approval is granted. 

 

  1. A letter/form providing all pertinent information will be sent home to parents/guardians prior to the trip, signed and returned to the trip coordinator.

 

    • Name and telephone number of trip coordinator
    • Name of event/activity and destination
    • Departure, arrival and return dates including estimated time
    • Name, address and telephone number of hotel or lodging
    • Financial implications
    • Behavior expectations, which would include student conduct code, activity code and school rules
    • Emergency information, including day and evening telephone numbers and parental permission

                                                         

3.   Transportation will be secured consistent with board policy.
