The Baraboo School District is committed to supporting our Initial Educators through the Professional Development Plan process. Within our system, we have trainings on how to write a high quality PDP, PDP Reviewers in each category and ongoing support with implementing the goal and objectives.
Our administrators, building mentors and Instructional Facilitator are all trained in understanding PI-34 and how it impacts the career of our Initial Educators. We are confident our teachers greatly benefit from the best practices of professional growth we institute through our New Teacher Program.
The Baraboo School District is proud of the numerous endorsements received for the our support of Initial Educators.
"The excellent work of your district with regard to support of initial educators...demonstrates that a quality program makes a difference in teaching and learning in district classrooms. Baraboo students will benefit from increased learning as initial educators more quickly grow in strength and quality of instruction...(the information shared)will help us promote such practices to districts that are looking at models to strengthen their own induction programs."
Judy Peppard, Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction
Director of Teacher Education, Professional Development and Licensing
"(Your) shared journey of commitment to effective practice and improved learning for all students is a wonderful model. The layers of support offered to new teachers, the peer consultations, the monthly induction seminars, the formative assessment model and the classroom observations should ensure new educators not only have a deep knowledge of what comprises a good teaching and learning in the Baraboo School District but also should provide a solid culture for their continued success in the district and community. I applaud the district's efforts to provide new educators with a positive culture for their long term success."
