This is the 6th grade geology page. During this unit, we will begin by looking at the earth as a whole. We will then move into plate tectonics and the various components including plate boundaries, volcanoes, and earthquakes. From there we will break things down by looking at land formations, types of rocks, minerals, etc. We will also take a geological tour of the Baraboo area, including a trip to Devil's Lake, Lower Narrows, and Rock Springs. Through this unit, we hope that the students gain an appreciation for the unique geology of the Baraboo area.
