Gordon L. Willson (GLW) hosted students, educators, and families who enjoyed a beautiful day at the end-of-year Blue Ribbon Fun Run and Picnic on Wednesday, May 17th!

GLW was named one of 297 schools nationwide and one of eight in Wisconsin to be selected as a 2022 National Blue Ribbon School (NBRS). GLW is recognized as an exemplary Achievement Gap-Closing school because it is one of Wisconsin’s highest-performing schools in closing achievement gaps between student subgroups and their grade-level peers.

GLW was formally recognized with the other 297 NBRS 2022 schools at an awards ceremony in Washington, DC on November 3 and 4, 2022. GLW was thrilled to celebrate the distinguished honor as a learning community of educators, students, and family members at the Blue Ribbon Fun Run and Picnic. Mrs. Sarah Brings, GLW Principal, said, “Families, your support is integral in this success! It takes all of us working together to achieve a tremendous award like the National Blue Ribbon Award, and that is exactly what you all did!”

The hard work, dedication, and commitment to excellence are commended and celebrated. Mrs. Brings went on to say, “We are all here today, to recognize and honor each and every one of you: students, staff, and families for investing in our kids, the future of our schools, and our community at large. Thank you for giving our students the roots to grow and the wings to fly!”
